Dutch Islam critics on al-Qaeda hitlist

An online magazine published by people allegedly associated with al-Qaeda has presented a hitlist which mentions Dutch MP Geert Wilders and Islam critic Ayaan Hirsi Ali. The English-language Inspire magazine appears to be targeting radical Muslims in Europe and North America.

Analysts agree that the Inspire magazine was published under the auspices of AQAP, al-Qaeda's branch in the Arabian Peninsula. The brains behind the sleekly designed online magazine is assumed to be Anwar al-Awlaki, an al-Qaeda chief in Yemen. He was also held responsible for the failed bomb attack on an Amsterdam-Detroit flight in 2009.

Mr Wilders said he is shocked by the death threat. "Being on an al-Qaeda leaflet pointing a gun at you is not something you can shrug off lightly. This is terrible." The magazine's hitlist also mentions Danish cartoonist Kurt Westergaard and the author Salman Rushdie.

Messages from Osama bin Laden and Ayman al-Zawahri are also included in the pages of Inspire. Their authenticity could not be verified.

The picture below is taken from the pdf file of the magazine. Earlier versions were riddled with computer viruses and unreadable because of character errors.

Over 2.5 million Muslims threaten to leave Facebook, to join Islamic network site, that forbids photos of women: Report

Remember the old Muslim argument, 'doesn't she look good in a headscarf', never mind that, now she doesn't have a face!!

Faceless!!

A group of Muslims ~ 2.5 million of them want to impose Islamic law on Facebook, they feel that the social networking site, should make sure that all content fits in with the teachings of Islam and that it never offends.

The group, who have had their pages removed from Facebook for spamming people, are threatening to join an Islamist networking site that forbids pictures of women in keeping with Islamic laws and norms.

LONDON: Angry over the removal of certain Islamic pages from Facebook, more than 2.5 million Muslim users are likely to quit the social networking website, according to a media report.

Following the removal of four extremely popular Islamic pages from the website, the Muslim community has expressed anger and a template letter that has been pasted into numerous Facebook pages accused the website's founder Mark Zuckerberg of "ignoring the feelings of more than 2.5 million Muslims", the Daily Mail reported.

The letter reads: "Although you have attended the world's best communication skills courses you have been most successful in growing great hatred and hostility between you and Muslims around the world, but seriously this time you have caused an almost unrepairable [sic] damage."

Taliban publicly ‘blow up’ two alleged US spies, strap explosives to them

Islamabad, July 17 (ANI): In yet another show of its ‘barbaric’ justice, the Taliban blew up two alleged US spies in a village near Miranshah, the main town in North Waziristan.

According to reports, the Taliban strapped explosives to two tribal men, who were accused of spying for the US, and blew them in full public view.

“Taliban terrorists strapped explosive material to their bodies and blew them up publicly,” a local administrative official in Miranshah said on conditions of anonymity.

The Taliban has carried dozens of public executions of people accused of spying for foreign forces in the ungoverned tribal regions in Pakistan along the Afghanistan border.

The Taliban follow the harsh brand of Islamic law called ’sharia’. The Taliban say that their version of Islam is a pure one that follows a literal interpretation of the Muslim holy book, The Koran.

Under Taliban laws, murderers are publicly executed by the relatives of their victims. Adulterers are stoned to death and the limbs of thieves are amputated. Lesser crimes are punished by public beatings.

Rushdie to pen his lost chapter, to tell of life under the fatwa

Meet al Uzza, one of the Trinity Goddesses of the Arabian Desert and Daughter of Allah.

Salman Rusdie got a fatwa put on his head for poking fun at the fact the the Prophet Muhammad changed his mind about the worship of Allah's Three Daughters, suggesting that maybe the Angel Gabriel was right the first time. And the character in the book wasn't even called Muhammad exactly ~ as well as most Muslims have no idea what the whole thing is about ~ cradled by the learned clerics ~ who of course want to kill Rushdie.

But I had my own thought ~ what if Allah's Daughters could be worshipped around the Kaaba at Mecca again ~ just as in pre-Islamic times, you go on the hajj, and say a prayer to the Daughters!! Muhammad reportedly said, that Islam will go down only when the Daughter Goddesses rise ["wriggle their asses at their temples"] again. Something intriguing about that idea!! I mean the Allah of Muhammad's Father did have Three Daughters... [Peace Be Upon Them All]

MELBOURNE - Salman Rushdie has started writing the story about his decade in hiding from a fatwa.

“I am writing it now. I found it kind of annoying that other people kept offering versions of it that were all bulls***,” The Australian quoted Rushdie as saying.

It was on Valentine’s Day in 1989 that Iranian leader Ayatollah Khomeini called for the death of everyone involved in the publication of The Satanic Verses, Rushdie’s allegedly blasphemous fourth novel.

“I just thought it might be time to tell that story,” Rushdie said.

“I always for a long time didn’t want to tell it. First of all I was in it and that was not likeable. Then I got out of it and I thought the last thing I want to do is put myself back in it and think about it for the next few years. Of course there were people telling me I should write it but I just thought, ‘Don’t want to. I want to get back the day job and write novels, stories etc’,” he added.

Rushdie wants to address the myths surrounding his captivity.

“There was a point at which I thought the only way to get rid of this bulls*** is to tell the story,” he said at the Granta event.

“I suddenly just literally woke up and thought maybe I’m ready. And I think I am. I have spent a lot of this year exhuming the material.

“I had journals of my own but as well as that there was obviously so much material written by other people at that time. I have been trying to get all that together and what is interesting is that it doesn’t upset me and I think if I had even looked at it a couple of years ago it would have,” he said.

One likely area of interest is the literary feuding over the fatwa between Rushdie and other writers, including Germaine Greer, John Le Carre and V.S. Naipaul, who publicly referred to the death threat as “an extreme form of literary criticism”.

Iran accuses US and UK of supporting group behind mosque attacks

People carry the victims of the bomb blasts in the city of Zahedan, 940 miles (1570 kilometers) southeast of the capital Tehran, Iran, Thursday, July 15, 2010. Twin bombings killed at least 20 people outside a mosque in southeastern Iran on Thursday _ including members of the powerful Revolutionary Guard.

CIA denies claims it has been backing Jundullah, the Sunni separatist group which has claimed responsibility for the bombs.

Iran is vowing to hunt down a Sunni separatist group which claimed responsibility for a double suicide bombing that killed 28 people at a mosque in the south-eastern city of Zahedan.

Jundullah – Arabic for "the soldiers of God" – said it carried out the twin attacks yesterday at Zahedan's grand mosque in retaliation for the execution of the group's captured leader. Provincial officials said a further 167 people were injured, some of them critically. Three days of mourning were declared. General Hossein Salami, deputy commander of Iran's Revolutionary Guards, claimed in Tehran today that the victims "were martyred by the hands of mercenaries of the US and UK". Ali Mohammad Azad, governor of Sistan-Baluchestan province, blamed "the intelligence services of arrogant powers."

The US and Britain – which are at odds with Iran over its controversial nuclear programme – issued statements condemning the attacks.

Indonesian Muslims miss the mark with prayer direction, have been praying towards Kenya!!

Mecca Meteorite!

The Islamic Black Stone forms the corner stone of the Kaaba or black cube in Mecca. It acts as a central idol and all Muslims MUST face it when they pray.

The Black Stone at the Kaaba was also formed a part of the pre-Islamic Kaaba religious worship, but where a lot more Gods and Goddesses were honored. Namely the chief God Allah and his three Daughters Allat, Manat and al Uzza [all mentioned in the Koran, Sura 53:19]. These were the Arabian or Desert Goddesses and widely known as Allah's Daughters. They were in fact worshipped by Muhammad and his father, but when Muhammad thought he had been granted special privilege, by the God Allah, he said to Allah of the Kaaba, why should there be these female Goddesses before himself ~ as a male, he should be next to God, not these Female/ Cranes or Goddesses. As we know he won that challenge and he got rid of the Goddesses. Now Muslims say there is 'No God but Alllah!'

At one time ~ to curry favor with his tribes people, Muhammad called upon the Daughters of Allah, as he had always done, and said that he would allow their worship. This is one of the most famous Satanic Verses in the Koran, starting from Sura 53:19, [verse was literally altered from the four earliest versions of the Koran to the non-statement of the current Koran] and was touched on in Salman Rusdie's book the Satanic Verses.

In pre-Islamic or Arabian peninsula history the Queen of Sheba also worshipped at a Black Stone. As well as one of Allah's Daughters was represented as a Black Stone between Mecca and Medina.

In Saudi Arabia one of the older mosques in Mecca was not aligned properly with the Kaaba Stone, and many of the worshippers were extremely upset that their prayers would not have been heard. The Black Stone in Mecca which most believe is a meteorite is an extremely important central focus of worship or idol for all Muslims.

JAKARTA (Reuters) - Indonesia's Muslims learned on Friday they have been praying in the wrong direction, after the country's highest Islamic authority said its directive on the direction of Mecca actually had people facing Africa.

Muslims are supposed to face the holy city of Mecca in Saudi Arabia during prayer and the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI) issued an edict in March stipulating westward was the correct direction from the world's most populous Muslim country.

"But it has been decided that actually the mosques are facing Somalia or Kenya, so we are now suggesting people shift the direction slightly to the north-west," the head of the MUI, Cholil Ridwan, told Reuters. "There's no need to knock down mosques, just shift your direction slightly during prayer."

Ridwan said Muslims need not fear that their prayers have been wasted because they were facing the wrong way.

"Their prayers will still be heard by Allah," he said.

Wilders sets up international alliance against Islam

Populist Dutch politician Geert Wilders is hoping to bring together the world’s anti-Islam forces. The Freedom Party (PVV) leader has set up the International Freedom Alliance, which appears at the moment to be a network of individuals.

Mr Wilders describes the IFA as an umbrella organisation for groups and individuals who “are fighting for freedom against Islam”. He stresses that it is not an international branch of his right-wing Freedom Party, a relative newcomer to Dutch domestic politics. The IFA is intended to be a network of kindred spirits from the United States, Canada, Great Britain and Germany.

He describes it as an outlet for the ideas of people who position themselves between conservative and ultra-right racist parties. It is highly unlikely to become a collective of extreme-rightwing parties. High on its list of priorities will be protecting the state of Israel. This should, from the outset, exclude all racist parties with anti-Semitic views.

US freezes terror imam's assets

US freezes terror imam's assets

The US government on Friday approved financial sanctions against Yemeni-American Imam Anwar al-Awlaqi who has been identified as a leader of al-Qaida in the Arabian Peninsula. The Treasury Department has now frozen Awlaqi's financial assets.

Awlaqi is wanted by US authorities for his role in a plot to blow up a A Detroit-bound Northwest Airlines plan on Christmas Day.

"Anwar al-Awlaqi has proven that he is extraordinarily dangerous, committed to carrying out deadly attacks on Americans and others worldwide," Stuart Levey, the head of Treasury's sanctions department, was quoted by AFP as saying.

The Obama administration has already authorized the targeted killing of Awlaqi, who is an American citizen.

The US-born Awlaki moved to Yemen in 2004 and is in hiding there after being linked to the suspects in recent terror attacks.

Two of the 9/11 terrorists, as well as Major Nidal Malik Hasan, the US officer who committed the Fort Hood massacre in which 12 were killed, attended the Dar al-Hijrah mosque in Great Falls, Virginia, where Awlaki served as imam. The planners of the USS Cole bombing also called Awlaki their spiritual guide.

Two-thirds of Britain would ban the Islamic veil: poll

LONDON (AFP)— Two thirds of British people would support a ban on Muslim women wearing face-covering veils in public similar to the one approved by French lawmakers this week, a poll found Friday.

An online survey of 2,205 adults for Five News television found 67 percent of respondents agreed that the burkha -- the full-face veil -- should be banned. That figure rose to 80 percent among people aged over 55.

The YouGov poll was carried out between Wednesday and Friday, after France's lower house of parliament voted overwhelmingly on Tuesday to ban full Islamic veils in public spaces.

Similar laws are pending in Belgium, Spain and some Italian municipalities, but the ban is particularly sensitive in France, whose rundown city suburbs are home to Europe's biggest Muslim minority.

A Harris poll for the Financial Times in March revealed Britons were among the most tolerant in Europe towards the Islamic veil, with just 57 percent backing a ban, compared to 70 percent in France and 65 percent in Spain.

According to the Muslim Council of Britain [affiliated with Muslim Brotherhood and openly promote Shari'a law in the UK], about 2.5 million Muslims live in this country, and less than one percent wear a face veil.

Ahmadinejad's in trouble with the hardliners as he enrages cleric by claiming it's ok for men to wear ties

Doesn't Ahmadinejad realize what they done for him they handed him the election! Now they expect him to toe the line ~ on everything!

Image though grown men asking permission to wear a tie!! Its so sad how hamstrung they are about their religion. And that is Islam's weakness and why the west is such a threat. If you sell freedom people will line up to take it. Whereas Islam has to force people to abide by its ideals!

Perhaps Ahmadinejad is feeling a little guilty about the election crackdown and wants to appear more human to those he has been allowed to rule.

President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad of Iran has outraged a Muslim cleric by suggesting it is acceptable for men to wear ties.

Ayatollah Ahmad Khatami, who is normally a hard line ally of the president, claims that the country's supreme spiritual leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, issued a fatwa, or religious law, against wearing ties or bow-ties.

Iranian conservatives view the gentleman’s accessory as a symbol of western decadence. It was once famously compared to a donkey’s tail.

But Mr Ahmadinejad said no religious leader had ever banned the tie.

However, he was swiftly reprimanded by a firebrand ayatollah who is normally a close ally of the usually hardline president.

‘I say to him that many religious dignitaries believe ties should not be worn,’ thundered Ayatollah Ahmad Khatami.

He reminded Mr Ahmadinejad that Iran’s supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, ‘himself has said in a fatwa (religious edict) that wearing ties or bowties is not permitted’.

The populist and controversial Iranian president never wears a tie.

Iranian Nuclear Scientist Is Welcomed Home

Shahram Amiri, an Iranian nuclear scientist who disappeared a year ago, held his 7-year-old son after a news conference outside Tehran on Thursday.

He'll never be free! Due one UN meeting of world leaders ~ and of course Ahmadinejad was present ~ there was a curious announcement that the Iranians had a secret nuclear site. This all, I believe was after this nuclear scientist's mysterious disappearance in Mecca/Medina!! The Iranians won't be foolish enough to put him in one of their show trials ~ or would they? But for now the welcome home will likely last for only a few hours!

TEHRAN — An Iranian nuclear scientist who American officials say defected to the United States and then had second thoughts was given a hero’s welcome when he returned to Tehran early Thursday morning.

The scientist, Shahram Amiri, 32, added details to his claims that he had been abducted by the C.I.A. and Saudi intelligence officers on a pilgrimage to Saudi Arabia in June 2009. A wreath of flowers was placed around his neck as he was greeted at Imam Khomeini International Airport by family members, including his 7-year old son, red-eyed from crying, and a grinning Foreign Ministry official.

At a news conference immediately upon his arrival, Mr. Amiri said he had no connection with Iran’s nuclear program and that he was the victim of an American conspiracy to wage “psychological warfare” against Iran. American officials have said that Mr. Amiri arrived in the United States of his own free will and was free to leave whenever he wished.

Mr. Amiri told reporters he had been offered $10 million to say on CNN that he had arrived in the United States to seek asylum . He said that just before his departure for Iran, he was offered $50 million and the chance for a new life in a European country of his choosing if he decided to stay.

Turkish 1700 yr old church defaced with Islamic graffiti, calling them Zionist Dogs!

Some offenders deface the stone walls of the church with various slogans in Turkish, such as “Clear off, bastards” and “Clear off, Zionist dogs".

Police have started an investigation after a suspected group of people defaced the façade of the 1,700-year-old Mor Jacob Syriac Orthodox Church in Nusaybin, in the southeastern province of Mardin, with pro-Islamic slogans.

The offenders allegedly defaced the stone walls of the church on Monday with various slogans, such as “Clear off, bastards,” “Clear off, Zionist dogs,” “Heretics, lay off,” and “Zionist powers, clear off,” in Turkish and, “Allah u Muhammed,” and “Prophet Muhammad, fight the infidels and hypocrites,” in Arabic.

The police will fingerprint the lid of a paint tin found on the ground at the site of the graffiti and will also fingerprint the wire fence surrounding the church, which is currently undergoing restoration.

Nusaybin Mayor Ayşe Gökkan and members of the town council also went to the church upon hearing of the vandalism, denouncing the act.

Gökkan said the graffiti was an insult to all members of the Nusaybin community, whether Syriac Orthodox, Kurdish, Arabic, or Yezidi.

Times Square bomber Faisal Shahzad full version of jihad video

He shows you right in the Koran where jihad is the obligation of all Muslims. And that Islam was establish by Jihad ~ the whole peace thing is deception.

Faisal Shahzad had been up to the Pakistani mountains got his Islamic opium and returned to the US to fulfil his dream of the Muslim pleasure dome.

Malaysia's 1st female Islamic court judges not allowed to hear divorces, moral crimes cases

Not so fast!!

When it was all going so well ~ though I thought what's the difference ~ it is the same restrictive law that forbids people from leaving Islam [an imprisonable offense in Malaysia] and also says that you need two women for every one man in front of the court ~ four in a case involving rape ~ just with a female judge ~ whoopi! I wished I could share in the excitement. But wait ~ true Islam is right around the corner ~ and it seems that the new female judges are barred from hearing moral and divorce cases!

In Saudi Arabia the women can practise law ~ but can't represent anyone in court. Well it is Malaysia truly Arabia!!

PUTRAJAYA, Malaysia (CP)— Malaysia's first two female Islamic court judges will be barred from hearing cases involving divorce, an official said Wednesday, raising concerns that a more inclusive judiciary won't address complaints of discrimination against women.

The two female judges were appointed in May to combat perceptions that the Shariah courts unfairly favour men.

A panel of 20 top Shariah judges will meet this week to determine which cases the women judges can handle, but Islamic law provisions already forbid them from ruling on divorces and matters involving morality crimes, such as drinking and gambling, said Yusop Che Teh, a senior Shariah judge. He did not elaborate on the specific reasons.

Neither judge has handled any cases yet, but they are expected to be able to deal with disputes concerning alimony and property. The two judges said they would respect whatever the committee decides.

"This is a heavy responsibility entrusted by God and because of that, I will try my level best to execute my functions as under Shariah principles," Surayah Ramlee, 31, told a news conference.

Former Muslims United Launches “Stop The Murfreesboro Mosque” Digital Billboard Campaign

US Islamic organization gets a bee in their bonet!!

They would not disagree with the statement that former Muslims should be killed for leaving Islam.

The green background of the ad represents the Saudi national flag with the Muslim profession of Faith “the Shahada” inscribed on it: "There is no god but Allah and Muhammad is the messenger of Allah." It is a message of Islamic supremacism and an imperative to convert or subjugate unbelievers.

Former Muslims United (FMU) launched a digital billboard campaign today against the expansion of the Islamic Center (ICM) in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. The ad can be seen on the Lamar Advertising digital billboard located near the Stone’s River Mall and major I-24 exits for Murfreesboro, Tennessee. Nonie Darwish, noted author, human rights activist and executive director of FMU, said, ”This is just the beginning of a national campaign to educate the public about threats to the civil and human rights of former Muslims who leave Islam and the dangers from adoption of Islamic Sharia law to all American citizens”.

The circle of children and their care provider represents the target of this threat from Sharia here in the US.

FMU had earlier issued a news release citing the non-response of the ICM Imam and board requesting that they sign a Freedom Pledge. “Islamic Center of Murfreesboro (ICM) Mosque leaders do not honor freedom to choose one’s beliefs as guaranteed under our First Amendment. That is the only conclusion we can draw from the overwhelming ‘silence’ and non-response to letters containing a Freedom Pledge sent to ICM Mosque leaders by our organization,” said Darwish.

Jordan's Queen Rania rejects offer to publish Hebrew edition of her children's book on tolerance

All children welcomed except little Jewish ones! More of these weird cultural outreaches ~ specifically designed to promote Islam only!!

The Queen is wealthy she walks around showing her arms ~ how many Muslim women can do that without be called... Let the reality of Islam speak for itself. At the moment it is a pitiful reminder of what most of us in the free world don't want.

The book, which has reached the New York Times' bestseller list, touches on such issues as getting to know others, openness and multiculturalism.

Queen Rania of Jordan has turned down several offers to publish a Hebrew version of a children's book she recently wrote. The book, which was published in the United States by Hyperion under the title "The Sandwich Swap" for children between 4 and 8 years old, was co-written with Kelly DiPucchio and illustrated by Tricia Tusa.

During a promotional campaign for the book, the queen described it as the story of two girls who let the food they bring to school get in the way of their friendship. They disparage each other's food based on their own cultural preconceptions. The two main characters, Lily and Salma, have a lot in common, but not when it comes to their sandwiches: Lily prefers the all-American peanut butter and jelly, while Salma sticks to pita and hummus.

Friendship and food fights

The two learn how to maintain their friendship, despite their cultural differences, but not without a food fight at school in which their classmates take sides. The confrontation ends, however, with a party at which the children exchange sandwiches. The book's message touches open such issues as getting to know others, openness and multiculturalism.

Mega Mosque on Ground Zero - Reflexions [Video]

Interesting video ~ the speaker says that shortly after 9/11 a Muslim friend showed him a picture of New York City covered in mosques ~ as a joke!! And he feels that some Muslims saw the 9/11 attacks, as clearing the way for the Islamization of America!! Now this Ground Zero mosque symbolically right next to the 9/11 tragedy, chosen in fact because a piece of shrapnel from the falling buildings hit it!!

Burqa French ban report [Video]

Calls grow for burka ban in Britain as French outlaw Islamic 'walking coffins'

'These people are saying that they don't want to be part of our way of society.'

There is no doubt in my mind that Muslims specifically wanted to show their objection to western society, a message telling the women to wear such clothes for this purpose appeared on a Muslim website. What they didn't count on was a response.

They somehow believed that people were going to see how wonderful it was and then follow them, in fact the opposite has happened.

I think other EU countries may have to ban the burqa, as they may run the risk of having burqa migration. We could see burqa-ed women and their families moving to places where the face coverings are allowed.

Britain faced growing calls to ban the burka today after French MPs voted overwhelmingly to outlaw full-face veils in public.

Politicians in France united yesterday to ban Islamic veils that cover a woman's face, which some described as 'walking coffins'.

Deputies in the country's 557-seat lower house, the National Assembly, voted in favour of the ban by 335 votes to one.

Support for a ban in Britain has come from Tory backbencher Philip Hollobone and the UK Independence Party.

Mr Hollobone has tabled a private members' bill which would make it illegal for anyone to cover their face in public.

The Kettering MP, who has previously likened full face veils to 'going round with a paper bag over your head', said: 'It is unnatural for someone to cover their face and it not a religious requirement.

'We are never going to have a fully integrated society if an increasing proportion of the population cover their faces'.

His Face Coverings (Regulation) Bill is the first of its kind in Britain, and is one of only 20 private members' bills drawn in a ballot for the chance to make it into the statute books.

The bill, which had its first reading in June, stands little chance of becoming law due to limited Parliamentary time and a lack of support from the main political parties.

Mr Hollobone has insisted that his bill has widespread public support: 'People feel that something should be done about burkas, but so many are afraid to speak out for fear of being labelled a racist.

'Part of the British way of life is walking down the street, smiling at people and saying hello, whether you know them or not. You cannot have this everyday human interaction if you cover your face.

Air Canada allows burqa clad women on the plane without physical identification, naturally not to offend [Video]

Each passenger has to submit their own passport and boarding pass so they can be identified at the last check in point before boarding the aircraft.
EXCEPT for muslims!
The first face covered woman walks straight past security as the daddy gives in ALL the passports, then the rest of them, including another face covered woman also walk past without being even looked at by the staff.
Yes I did complain, both at the check in desk and also when I was boarding the plane.
Air Canada are shit scared of being called 'racist' I suppose, so instead they compromise YOUR safety! mickflyuk

Yemen: 'Al-Qaeda' militants stage deadly attack

Uthman Ali Noman al-Sulwi, the suicide bomber who carried out an attack on the British ambassador to Sanaa is seen in this undated photo obtained from a statement by Yemen's al-Qaeda wing and posted on jihadist forums May 12, 2010.

Sanaa, 14 July (AKI) - Suspected Al-Qaeda insurgents launched an attack on Yemen's intelligence agency Wednesday killing at least 3 people, according to police.

Using high-calibre automatic weapons, rocket-propelled grenades and mortars, the attackers targeted the agency's office in the troubled southern city of Abyan, reports said.

"The pair of attacks were spectacular, it's Al-Qaeda again, it's the second of its kind in less than one month against the Yemeni southern intelligence headquarters' buildings," an unnamed the official was quoted as saying.

On 19 June, militants raided the intelligence headquarters in the southern port city of Aden, killing at least 11. Al-Qaeda later claimed responsibility for the attack, saying it killed at least 24 people.

Failed Times Square bomber made jihadist video

So much for the defaulted mortgage idea, as the reason for his attack!!

Obama Departs from Revised Policy, Links 'Radical Islam' to Terror Groups, Calls Al Qaeda Racist

Mourners gather at a funeral service for bomb attack victims Pastor Peter Mutabazi and Becky Tendo at Bwaise Penecostal Church on the outskirts of the capital Kampala July 13, 2010.

"Al-Qaeda is a racist organisation that treats black Africans like cannon fodder and does not value human life," said a US official, who spoke on the condition of anonymity.

In a rare divergence from administration policy, President Obama used the term "radical Islam" to describe the African-based terror group that took credit Monday for killing 74 people in Uganda during an interview Tuesday with the South African Broadcasting Corporation.

The interview came just three months after the administration removed such religious terms from its national security playbook and two months after Attorney General Eric Holder hesitated to link "radical Islam" to recent terror attacks and plots in the U.S. during questioning at a House Judiciary Committee hearing.

When asked about opinions attributing radical Islam's impact on the development and stability on the African continent, Obama called Islam "a great religion," but added that the radical version views as anti-Islam "any efforts to modernize, any efforts to provide basic human rights, any efforts to democratize."

"And I think that is absolutely wrong," he said. "I think the vast majority of people of the Islamic faith reject that. I think the people of Africa reject it."

Obama also accused terror groups such as Al Qaeda an Al Shabab of being racist.

"What you've seen in some of the statements that have been made by these terrorist organizations is that they do not regard African life as valuable in and of itself," he said. "They see it as a potential place where you can carry out ideological battles that kill innocents without regard to long-term consequences for their short-term tactical gains."

Germany's Anonymous Mosque Watchers

Tilting at Minarets

Reinhard Werner doesn't trust Islam. The 70-year-old German is part of a group which keeps tabs on mosques across Germany, monitoring them for what he calls an "intolerant Islam of terror." Over the years, he has gained a certain amount of notoriety.

Reinhard Werner is a few minutes early, but because he doesn't want to be noticed, he stands outside on the sidewalk in front of the mosque, trying to look as inconspicuous as possible.

It's Friday afternoon in Munich's Pasing neighborhood and men are scurrying past Werner on their way to Friday prayers. All of them, in Werner's eyes, are enemies. He claims that the mosque is spreading what he calls an "intolerant Islam of terror."
"Do you see the sign over the entrance?" he says.

The letters "DITIB" are printed on the sign. DITIB, an acronym for the Turkish-Islamic Union for Religious Affairs, is the umbrella organization for roughly 900 mosque congregations in Germany. It is controlled by a Turkish government organization based in Ankara, the Office for Religious Affairs, making it indirectly answerable to the Turkish prime minister. "A military mosque," says Werner.

"Do you see that the letter 'I' in DITIB resembles a minaret? And that the minarets look like missiles?" he asks, beseechingly. It isn't always easy for Werner to make himself understood.

Feeling a Kinship

Werner is a member of the "Anonymous Mosque Observers," a group of Muslims who fled to Germany from Muslim countries because they came into conflict with religious rules.

Although Werner is not a Muslim himself, nor is he fleeing anything, he feels a kinship with Muslims who have fled their native countries. These Muslims trust their more settled Muslim counterparts about as much as former US President George W. Bush trusted terrorist leader Osama bin Laden. They keep tabs on what goes on in mosques because they want to be sure that they are still safe in Germany.

Werner came to the group in a somewhat roundabout way. For 30 years, he was a teacher at a secondary school in Munich, where some of his classes consisted entirely of foreign students. According to Werner, most of the Turkish students had a negative-to-hostile attitude toward the West. They were hard to reach and difficult to convince, he felt.

Since then, he has been fighting for religious freedom, but insists that it should come with certain conditions. The most important of those, he says, is that Muslims, like members of other faiths, pledge to uphold the German constitution.

Typical of the Muslim world.. doing a lot of weird things behind the scenes.. while condemning everyone else.

They may call it the ‘Land of the Pure,’ but Pakistan ranks as the top country to proportionally search for certain sex-related terms on the web. The country that banned 17 websites to block offensive and blasphemous material is the world's leader in online searches for pornographic material. “You won’t find strip clubs in c countries. Most Islamic countries have certain dress codes,” Fox News quoted Gabriel Said Reynolds, professor of Islamic Studies at the University of Notre Dame, as saying.
“It would be an irony if they haven’t shown the same vigilance to pornography,” she added.

Its top searches include terms like ‘horse sex’, ‘donkey sex’, ‘rape pictures’, and ‘child sex’, as per information provided by Google.

Pakistan is known to be very strict in banning anything that poses to be anti Islam, and so is porn, but no action seems to have been taken by authorities towards this new trend.

UK: Schools advised against swimming lessons in Ramadan, to ensure Muslim children don't swallow water

These suggestions came from,of course the Muslim Council of Britain, a group connected to the Muslim Brotherhood, that openly believes Shari'a law should be integrated into British law.

What are small children doing fasting??

Swimming lessons in some Staffordshire schools should stop during Ramadan to ensure Muslim pupils "do not swallow water", a council has suggested.

Stoke-on-Trent City Council has issued an 11-page Ramadan guide for schools to help pupils who may be fasting when the school year starts in September.

It said swimming was acceptable to Muslims but posed a high risk of swallowing water that may break a fast.

Islam requires Muslims to fast from dawn until dusk for one month per year.

This year's Ramadan is expected to begin on or around 11 August and finish 30 days afterwards.

'Disrupt sleeping patterns'
The council guide states: "Schools with a significant number of Muslim pupils should try to avoid scheduling swimming lessons during Ramadan to remove unnecessary barriers to full participation."

It also suggests re-scheduling sex education classes during the holy lunar month, as Muslim followers who have reached puberty are required to avoid sexual thoughts during this period.

Lost In Islam: What Muslim Scientific Acheivements?

The birthplace of stars ~ taken by Hubble space telescope.

That is what I thought we heard a few months ago, that the Obama administration is cutting back on the space program and reaching out to Muslims!! That is a shocking statement. And what are the Muslims doing ~ with the extra money from the oil ~ they are doing as they always have ~ building another mosque!! And another and another ~ in Algeria the new mosque is going to have the tallest minaret on earth and when it is finished will be the second largest mosque in the world.

Kind of reminds me of a story of Alexander the Great, after taking Egypt he asked that plans be submitted for the new city of Alexander. In one plan that was submitted, all the roads led to Alexander the Great's palace, and he responded by telling the guy, he was honored, but a city cannot survive without its roads or veins of commerce. Instead on building more and more mosques Muslims should be looking at developing places of commerce and invention.

Sometimes you have to allow people to live in their dream world ~ at the moment Muslims are more impressed with their religion than their humanity ~ NASA should in no way be used to alter that!!

It gives the impression that the space agency is not valued.

One headline writer in Washington proclaimed the notion “Lost in Space.”

That’s how many reacted to NASA Administrator Charles Bolden’s comments that he’s been directed by President Obama to reach out to Muslim nations to honor their technological and scientific accomplishments as one of his agency’s priorities.

Bolden, in an interview with Al Jazeera, ignited significant backlash when he said that the President encouraged him to “find a way to reach out to the Muslim world and engage much more with dominantly Muslim nations to help them feel good about their historic contributions to science.”

The comments have sparked much debate in the blogosphere and among pundits but have gained little traction among mainstream media outlets where Bolden’s explanation of the President’s NASA goals have been underreported at best.

Opponents have questioned the administration’s commitment to space exploration and said using the program as an appeasement for Muslim nations is a misuse of the agency.

Opponents pack hearing on 'Cordoba' Initiative mosque near ground zero

Developer Sharif El-Gamal speaks to reporters during a Landmarks Commission hearing on proposal to build a mosque near the World Trade Center site, Tuesday, July 13, 2010 in New York.

Christians an others would never get away with anything like this in the Muslim world ~ what is amazing is that no one asks Muslims to be tolerant of others ~ and in their own countries they don't have too!!

This is what the whole Muslim advancement means ~ they aim to assert their influence and subjugate all others...

We have 'Islam means peace' rammed down our throats ~ but pick up the Koran and it calls for violence ~ someone is lying!!

Islamaphobia ~ where are all the churches in the Islamic world?? Attempt to repair a church in places like Egypt ~ let alone build one.. and you meet with red tape and once approved after a decade or so, then you face attack!! Let's talk about this!

And where is the money coming from to build this insult of a mosque ~ well, from the very place that allows no churches ~ to tell the Saudis to be tolerant ~ then you become a 'critic' of Islam ~ and an 'Islamophobe' ~ how convenient to have all your critics labelled as being in need of help!!

Rarely do westerners get angry ~ but I think this is a worthy cause!!

NEW YORK (AP)— Dozens of opponents and some supporters of a mosque planned at a building near ground zero attended a raucous hearing Tuesday about whether the building should be designated a city landmark and protected from development.

Republican gubernatorial candidate Rick Lazio, who has sought an investigation into the funding of the mosque, was among the witnesses who testified in support of giving the building landmark status, which could complicate plans by Muslim groups to develop a community center and mosque there.

After noting the lower Manhattan building's history and architectural significance, Lazio said it also warranted landmark designation because on Sept. 11, 2001, it was struck by airplane debris from the terror attacks against the nearby World Trade Center. That connection to the attacks, he said, made it "a place of deep historical significance and a reminder of just what happened on New York's darkest day."

Lazio has called on state Attorney General Andrew Cuomo, his Democratic opponent in the governor's race, to investigate the funding of the project. On Tuesday, he repeated that request and said the pace of the landmarking process should be slowed to allow time to thoroughly investigate the matter.

Sally Regenhard, who lost her son Christian Regenhard during the Sept. 11 attacks on the World Trade Center, speaks out against a proposal to build a mosque near ground zero during a Landmarks Commission hearing Tuesday, July 13, 2010 in New York.

Nearly 100 people attended the hearing at a college campus on the Upper East Side of Manhattan. Fifty-six people testified at the hearing, which turned contentious at times, with some speakers drowned out by shouts from the audience and with one man escorted out by campus security.

Breaking: French lawmakers approve bill to ban 'burqa' in public places

French lawmakers have approved a bill that would ban the wearing of the full Islamic veil in public places. Of 577 MPs, 335 voted in support of the bill, which must now be approved by the French Senate. France 24

PARIS July 13 (Reuters) - French lawmakers on Tuesday voted to ban full-length veils in public places, putting France on the road to becoming the second European country to take steps to make wearing the burqa or niqab a criminal offence. France is home to Europe's largest Muslim minority, with about 5 million Muslims.

The law, which must still be approved by the Senate, would mean women wearing the veil in public can be fined 150 euros ($189). It now goes to the constitutional council for a review.

The Belgium lower house of parliament voted in April to ban all clothing that covers or partially covers the face.

Iran: Widow and mother of two may escape stoning only to be hanged

Hanged on a movable crane. Iran's hanging cranes are driven from town to town, parked in the town square, where the individual or group is hanged publicly in the morning.

The lawyer for an Iranian widow sentenced to be stoned to death for an adultery conviction expressed cautious optimism today after Iran said it will review the decision, which has drawn international condemnation.

Human rights activists and other officials, however, warned that Sakineh Mohammadi Ashtiani, a 43-year-old mother of two, could still be hanged.

The outcry over the death sentence is the latest thorn in Iran’s relationship with the international community, with the US, Britain and international human rights groups urging Tehran to stay the execution.

Stoning was widely imposed in the years following the 1979 Islamic revolution, and even though Iran’s judiciary still regularly hands down such sentences, they are often converted to other punishments. The last known stoning was carried out in 2007, although the government rarely confirms that such punishments have been meted out.

British media reported late Thursday that the stoning would not occur, citing the Iranian embassy in London.

Mohammed Javad Larijani of Iran’s human rights council told the state news agency late on Friday that the “review and appeal of the verdict is on the agenda,” though he maintained it was not due to outside pressure.

“The hue and cry that the West has launched over this case will not affect our judges,” he said. “The implementation of Islamic regulations like stoning and the headscarf have always been faced with their impudently hostility and opposition.”

He added that converting sentences of stoning to alternative punishments has been common over the past years.

Mrs Ashtiani’s lawyer, Mohammad Mostafaei, said he was optimistic the review would bring an end to his client’s suffering after years of living “with the nightmare of death by stoning”.

Burqa clad women wielding AK-47s seen in Somalia

Somali women carry weapons during a demonstration in Suqa Holaha neighborhood in Mogadishu, Somalia, Monday, July 5, 2010, organized by the islamist Al-Shabaab group which is fighting the Somali government.

A group of burqa-clad women wielding AK-47 assault rifles and linked to the Al Qaeda has been seen in Somalia, a media report said Monday.

The female fanatics hid under traditional Muslim dress to be paraded for the first time at an extremist rally in the capital Mogadishu.

They displayed their gun skills to a mob, demanding the withdrawal of foreign peacekeepers in the shattered African state, the report said.

The women have been drafted in to one of the most hardline terror networks, al-Shabaab, or Youth of the Mujahideen. It is linked to suicide bombings and murders of dozens of aid workers.

"The recruitment of these women shows how ruthless the terrorists are prepared to be," a British intelligence source said.

French MPs set to vote for ban on Islamic full veil

Pic. July 1, 2010 shows a veiled woman speaking with another woman while waiting at the courthouse in Nanterre, Paris western suburb.

Wouldn't do to have a pink or green bag to go with that outfit!!

A French ban on the public wearing of the Islamic full veil is expected to have an easy passage in parliament's lower house when it votes shortly.

The bill has broad cross-party support in the National Assembly and opinion polls suggest overwhelming public support.

To become law, it must be ratified by the Senate in September.

Critics point out that only a tiny minority of French Muslims wear the full veil.

French justice minister

President Nicolas Sarkozy supports the bill as part of a wider debate on national identity but critics say the government is pandering to far-right voters.

The opposition Socialists who originally wanted the ban limited only to public buildings have since bowed to pressure from feminist supporters and will now abstain from voting, which should ensure it passes.

The vote will be closely watched in other countries, the BBC's Christian Fraser reports from the French capital Paris.

Spain and Belgium are debating similar legislation and, with such large-scale immigration in the past 20 or 30 years, identity has become a popular theme across Europe, our correspondent says.

'Open-faced democracy'
The bill in front of the lower house of parliament would make it illegal to wear the niqab or burka anywhere in public.

It envisages fines of 150 euros (£119) for women who break the law and 30,000 euros and a year jail term for men who force their wives to wear the burka.

The niqab and burka are widely seen in France as threats to women's rights and the secular nature of the state.

Parliament passed a resolution in May describing the wearing of the full veil as an "attack on dignity and equality between men and women", and "contrary to the values of the [French] Republic".

"Democracy thrives when it is open-faced," Justice Minister Michele Alliot-Marie told the National Assembly when she presented the bill last week.

Uganda Makes Arrests, Foils Another Attack At Disco Hall

Investigators found an unexploded suicide vest with ball bearings in a disco hall in Uganda's capital, suggesting that militants planned another attack, officials said Tuesday. Four "foreign" suspects were arrested in connection with the find.

KAMPALA, Uganda -- Investigators found an unexploded suicide vest with ball bearings in a disco hall in Uganda's capital, suggesting that militants planned another attack, officials said Tuesday. Four "foreign" suspects were arrested in connection with the find.

The discovery of a suicide vest in a suburb of Kampala on Monday was consistent with what was seen at the two blast sites in Kampala, said the inspector general of police, Kale Kaihura. The vest contained ball bearings, as did the bombs that exploded Sunday. Officials believe homicide bombers took part in the twin blasts during the World Cup final.

"What we found here is consistent with what we found on both scenes of crime. And so this is a very significant lead in our investigation," Kaihura said.

Four people were arrested in connection with the discovery of the unexploded vest, said Edward Ochom, the director of criminal investigations. He said the four were not Ugandan but would not say their nationalities. Kale hinted that Somali nationals could be among the arrests.

The death toll from Sunday's attack rose to 76, Kaihura said.

Missing Iranian scientist appears at embassy in US

Stills from footage of "Mr Amiri"
Conflicting videos have deepened the mystery as to Mr Amiri's whereabouts

A missing Iranian nuclear scientist, who Tehran says was kidnapped a year ago by the CIA, has taken refuge in the Iran section of Pakistan's US embassy.

A spokesman from Pakistan's Foreign Office, Abdul Basit, told the BBC that Shahram Amiri was seeking immediate repatriation to Iran.

Two videos supposedly showing Shahram Amiri emerged on 8 June

In the most recent video the man claims to have escaped US custody

In June videos purportedly of Mr Amiri but containing contradictory information on his whereabouts emerged.

The US rejected Tehran's claims that it was behind Mr Amiri's disappearance.

Iranian media say Mr Amiri worked as a researcher at a university in Tehran, but some reports say he worked for the country's atomic energy organisation and had in-depth knowledge of its controversial nuclear programme.

ABC News reported in March that he had defected and was helping the CIA, revealing valuable information about the Iranian nuclear programme.

But earlier this month, Tehran said it had proof he was being held in the US.

The allegation came after three videos purportedly of Mr Amiri emerged - the first said he had been kidnapped, the second that he was living freely in Arizona, and the third that he had escaped from his captors.

Three British soldiers killed in an attack by renegade Afghan soldier

British troops in Afghanistan

Three British soldiers have been killed in an attack by a renegade Afghan soldier in Nah-e-Saraj, Helmand Province, Afghanistan.

The soldiers were all part of the International Security Assistance Force (ISAF).

Security sources say the soldiers, believed to be Gurkhas, were killed by a renegade Afghan soldier.

Afghan President Hamid Karzai has asked the defence minister for more information about the attack and how it happened.

Presidential spokesman Waheed Omar speaking on reports that the fire came from Afghan forces said:"If it is confirmed, it's a very unfortunate attack and the government of Afghanistan will do everything to make sure the proper traitors are brought to justice."

The three latest deaths brings the number of soldiers killed in action in Afghanistan to 279.

Illinois hotel backs out of hosting Muslim group ~ Hizb ut-Tahrir

CHICAGO — A controversial Muslim group has canceled its annual U.S. conference after a suburban Chicago hotel backed out of hosting the event.

American members of Hizb ut-Tahrir (HIZ-bhut-ah tuh-REER) had planned a 2010 conference at the Chicago Marriott Oak Brook on Sunday.

But organizer Ayman Hamed says the hotel sent a late cancellation notice without explanation. The hotel didn't return calls for comment.

The self-described political organization wants to establish a worldwide Islamic state. It's banned in Turkey and other countries.

The group doesn't advocate violence and isn't considered a terrorist organization by the U.S.

But several scholars criticize the group's secretive workings. One has called it a "conveyor-belt to terrorism."

Last year a conference in suburban Oak Lawn drew about 800 people and a handful of protesters.

Radical Islam's Target? Kampala To Kyrgystan

Tim Marshall

Those who follow the pattern of the Islamist bombing campaign know that to label it 'anti Western' is to misinform. This misinformed narrative argues that because of various historical injustices perpetrated by 'The West' , radical Islam has begun to hit back, and if only 'we' stopped meddling in the affairs of Muslim countries the violence would stop.

Sunday night's bombings in Uganda give lie to that narrative, as do numerous examples over the last decade. Yes, anti- western sentiment is ever present in the bombing campaign, but the aims of the jihadists are more than that, and, without that context, Islamism cannot be seen for what is; A global revolutionary movement with fascistic tendencies However, the narrative appears stuck in the tram lines and even mass murders such those in Kampala cannot jolt it onto a more wide ranging analysis.

US should better define, counter Islamic extremism ~ but define it how?

In the report, scheduled to be released this week, counterterrorism experts from the Washington Institute for Near East Policy argue that the U.S. could clearly articulate the threat from radical Islamic extremists "without denigrating the Islamic religion in any way."

This may not be possible. It may not be possible to root out an enemy but save a religion. When what is more true is that the religion is the enemy. But the way it is used determines whether or not the individual becomes the enemy.

This why when dealing with Muslims or those from the Muslim world, we should look to deal with people first, not religion. Religion is a murky world, and none more so today than the Islamic religion. There are clear instructions in the Koran to kill and fight the non-believers, until they are dead or defeated/subdued and come under Islamic rule. We can't defend this!

What we can do is to defend people who don't want to attack their neighbor, who believe, that although the Koran does command this, to live in the modern world these things need to be put aside. That's who we can defend. The rest is just make believe!

The white House is trying to take it all on ~ but some onus must be placed on those who practise the Islamic faith.

WASHINGTON (AP)— The Obama administration's recent move to drop references to Islamic radicalism is drawing fire in a new report warning the decision ignores the role religion can play in motivating terrorists.

Several prominent counterterror experts are challenging the administration's shift in its recently unveiled National Security Strategy, saying the terror threat should be defined in order to fight it.

The question of how to frame the conflict against al-Qaida and other terrorists poses a knotty problem. The U.S. is trying to mend fences with Muslim communities while toughening its strikes against militant groups.

In the report, scheduled to be released this week, counterterrorism experts from the Washington Institute for Near East Policy argue that the U.S. could clearly articulate the threat from radical Islamic extremists "without denigrating the Islamic religion in any way."

President Barack Obama has argued that words matter, and administration officials have said that the use of inflammatory descriptions linking Islam to the terror threat feed the enemy's propaganda and may alienate moderate Muslims in the U.S.

In the report, which was obtained by The Associated Press, the analysts warn that U.S. diplomacy must sharpen the distinction between the Muslim faith and violent Islamist extremism, identify radicalizers within Islamic communities and empower voices that can contest the radical teachings.

American Dies in Uganda Blasts as Terrorists Kill 74 World Cup Watchers

The Somali terrorists gained two in one. They promised an attack on Uganda for sending troops to Somalia and they were determined to attack those watching the World Cup matches. Unable to orchestrate an attack in South Africa they attacked Uganda ~ an Ethiopian Christian restaurant, that was popular with westerners.

An American aid worker was killed and six members of a Pennsylvania church group were seriously wounded as twin bombers tore through crowds watching the World Cup final at a party in Uganda's capital Monday, killing at least 74 people.

Nate Henn, a Wilmington, De., native who was working with Uganda's child soldiers, died in the blast in Kampala Monday while watching the soccer match at an outdoor rugby field.

Dozens were killed at the rugby club, where revelers had gathered to watch the final on a large TV screen set up outside. Well over a dozen more people died in a separate blast at an Ethiopian restaurant in Kampala.

Al-Shabab, an Al Qaeda-linked terrorist militia based in Somalia, claimed responsibility for the bombings, which came just two days after one of the militant group's commanders called for attacks in Uganda and Burundi.

Henn, 25, was remembered as a tireless and devoted activist by the California-based aid group Invisible Children, which sponsored his work in Uganda.

"From traveling the United States without pay advocating for the freedom of abducted child soldiers ... to raising thousands of dollars to put war-affected Ugandan students in school, Nate lived a life that demanded explanation," the group said in a statement on its website.

"He sacrificed his comfort to live in the humble service of God and of a better world, and his is a life to be emulated."

Six missionaries from the Christ United Methodist Church in Selingsgrove, Pa., were injured in the blast: Lori Ssebulime, Emily and Joanne Kerstetter, Kris Sledge, and Pam and Thomas Kramer.

Five missionaries had stayed behind in Uganda to complete their mission work with with Ssebulime, who is married to a Ugandan, as their friends returned home just days ago.

The group arrived at the Ethiopian restaurant early to get good seats for the game, said Ssebulime, who told the AP that three Ugandans in the group were killed in the blast and described the scene of the attacks.

"Emily was rolling around in a pool of blood screaming," said Ssebulime, who has helped bring in U.S. church groups since 2004. "Five minutes before it went off, Emily said she was going to cry so hard because she didn't want to leave. She wanted to stay the rest of the summer here."

Blood and pieces of flesh littered the floor among overturned chairs at the scenes of the blasts, which went off as people watched the game between Spain and the Netherlands.

"We were enjoying ourselves when a very noisy blast took place," said Andrew Oketa, one of the hospitalized survivors. "I fell down and became unconscious. When I regained, I realized that I was in a hospital bed with a deep wound on my head."

Pamela Kramer, rests in the Internatiopnal Hospital Kampala, Uganda, Monday, July 12, 2010. Kramer is one of the five US citizens who were injured in a bomb blast on Sunday at an Ethiopian restaurant frequented by western expatriates, while watching the World Cup final.

Five of the six American missionaries have been hospitalized, though none have sustained life-threatening injuries, representatives of their church told Fox News. Two are being evacuated to Kenya or South Africa for further treatment.
