Scare tactics of security fears around Dutch elections and Wilders
It is the idea that if we are very nice and only say the right things the radicals won't have an incentive to attack. But to be on the right side of Islamic extremism is to be an Islamic nation and further a fundamentalist one.
EuropeNews picks up on some interesting comments here. In one article the security threat around the Dutch elections is said to thought to be coming from the far-right, as well Islamic extremists. But the blogger rightly point to the Left, as an increasing amount of Europe's extremism is now coming from the far-Left and the Muslim radicals. It was a far-Leftist guy who had sympathies with Islam, who assassinated Pim Fortuyn and it was a radical Muslim who killed Theo Van Gogh.
Someone also commented ~ that if anything happened to Wilders 'all hell would break lose'. It was the Leftist elite's policies which allowed the unrestricted immigration and a climate of suppressing all but Islam in society and so it would not be in their interests to see anything happen to Wilders.
Dutch tolerance?
This Dutch tolerance comes at a cost. The way they treated Hirsi Ali for example, when she started to speak about what was really going on with women in the Islamic community in Holland, they distanced themselves from her. In the end, she ended up leaving her position and the country. They distance themselves in a way that almost seems to say you deserve to be attacked for what you are saying. An abandonment. That is false tolerance. And out of this control or in defiance of it ~ you have Wilders making a point to be provocative and drive the point home.
Trying to appear tolerant or balanced in front Muslim nations that almost completely disregard the rights of their citizens and are where most of the problems to do with Islam in Europe stem from. Everyone knows the facts. The problem in Holland is how you deal with them. For example, to placate the Muslims those on the Left, would prefer not to show too much support for someone being persecuted for leaving Islam in Holland. But on the Right the position is clear, you are free to change your religion and the state will protect you. Or, so that Muslims won't be offended some of the Left have held political meetings where the men and women are segregated. Of course the right would say that is an outrage ~ in Holland. The Left's ideas about inclusion, worryingly includes getting rid of anything which offends or contradicts Islam. The right would say that is insane. And the Left would say this makes them racists.
One Dutch parliamentarian said that if Holland were to become 2/3 Muslim and they voted for Shari'a, there is nothing legally to stop it. The decision to go Shari'a whether it is by unrestricted Muslim immigration or by changes to the law or policy ~ is not for a few people to make. And certainly can't be dealt with under laws to protect individuals from racial abuse. And further no political party in Holland has been elected to bring about Shari'a. The Left have to understand that the Holy Koran doesn't have a race! There is only Muslim and non-Muslim ~ and in this book ~ the non-Muslims get a bad deal.
NCTb election attack fears: additional measures
Netherlands during the election campaign is an additional risk of terrorist attack. Eric Akerboom, the National Coordinator for Counterterrorism, so take extra security measures.
He said this in an interview this week with Elsevier.
Pole indicates that the PVV Geert Wilders, the largest party can be.
Pim Fortuyn
"When people think their belief in danger, creates risks . I think back to the assassination of Pim Fortuyn in May 2002. The discontent in this situation can be discharged on the politicians who are icons of the electoral shift. "
Akerboom expects that "the tone of the debate on Islam is exacerbated during the campaign . " He warns that political polarization is a breeding ground for violence.
Security
during the election campaign the NCTb put in extra security guards. The presence of so many "ears" is an additional stress factor.
Akerboom glossed: "Security is aimed at everything as undisturbed as possible to pass. We propose a professional pride in the democratic process as little burden as possible. "
Nee Hoor ~ Sorry No
The General Intelligence and Security Service (AIVD) emphasizes that the agency has no concrete evidence of politically motivated violence in the Netherlands.
