Nigerian bomber 'alone' at Schiphol Airport, Amsterdam

Police investigating the Nigerian man who tried to blow up a US airliner bound for Detroit say he did not meet any accomplice at Schiphol airport.

The research team, which works closely with the US authorities, suspect the bomber was already carrying the explosives he meant to set off when he arrived at Schiphol on a flight from Ghana. The man's movements at Schiphol have been reconstructed with the aid of footage taken by security cameras. The man reported at the gate at 7am and passed the security check without displaying any suspicious behaviour.
