Does Wilder's accuser Gerard Spong call for Islamic law Holland?

The man bringing the case against Geert Wilders is left-wing lawyer Gerard Spong. In 2009 he caused controversy when he took part in a Dutch television show featuring a mock-trial where he convinced a TV jury that Bin Laden's connection to Sept 11 was a product of "Western propaganda", that there was insufficient evidence to prove Bin Laden was the real leader of al-Qaeda - in the end the TV jury ruled that Bin Laden was a "terrorist who has misused Islam." [+]

With this mindset he and fellow students at the university where he works brings Wilders to trial from insulting Islam.

The following is what Radio Netherlands has been able together on Spong's views.

Mr Wilders was brought to trial after a number of people filed complaints against him. One of them is the well-known Dutch criminal defence lawyer Gerard Spong. Although Mr Spong has refused to comment on the trial, he did deliver a lecture on regulation at Winternachten:

"I'm calling for clearer regulation in the law," says Mr Spong.

One must assume there is no law to convict Wilders.

"The article in the constitution on freedom of expression has led to a maze of legal rulings.

The word 'maze' ~ of which in this tangled mess of rulings - he is not satisfied with current freedom of expression laws.

A vast number of ethnic and religious communities want to live here in peaceful co-operation.

What he means is Muslim communities and Islam.

In order to make this extremely complicated society governable, we need explicit, clear-cut regulations about what is and what is not permissible.

Now the society is extremely complicated - which needs to be governed. Governed how you might ask ~ dear grandmother?

With clear-cut rules ~ what is wrong with freedoms as they are?

Clear-cut rules!! What big teeth you have grandmother!

We have to treat each other decently.

Never hurt anyone's feelings ~ and never offend !

It doesn't matter whether that stems from good manners, the law of the land or religious belief, but we have to treat each other decently." [+]

It doesn't matter whether these [new] rules on behavior stem from - the law of the land or religious belief.

But he has taken Wilders to court to enforce these 'good manners' rules - and the laws which stem from religious belief - are coming from Islam.

Garard Spong wishes to see Islamic law enforced in Holland - and he has gone to court to do so in the name of 'good manners'.

Let's look at what Wilders is saying:

He has called "Islam a backward religion"

Within Islam there is a struggle - for and against modernity. And if you read the Islamic text literally it is against modernity. It is against living peacefully along side one's neighbours - without first bringing them under Islamic law.

Could the moderate attempts to bring Europe and all western society under Islamic law - through political pressure - be to avert the bloodshed that the Koran actually calls for in say verse [9:29]. The Koran says that people don't have to convert - but they do have to live as subjugated citizens under Islamic law.

Wilder's has called for parts of the Koran to be torn out - especially those parts which call for Holy War against non-believers and those which are blatantly racist against Jews.

Wilders has also said that the Koran is similar to Mein Kampf - something Winston Churchill the British PM said more than 50 years ago. A lot of religions call for the gathering of new followers - but it how Islam calls for it - that is the problem.

There have been some reports that 250-300 million people have been killed in the name of Islam - and the figure is possible higher - as India saw 80-100 million dead to try to introduce the Shari'a there. These are considered Holy or just battles - and unlike Western atrocities many Muslims will feel that there will never be a need to apologize for them.

As the Turkish PM recently said -

No Muslim can perpetrate a genocide.

Spong is in court essentially to protect Muslim sentiments and or feelings - that would be offended by any and all criticism of Islam - past or present.

Muslim in Holland [obviously not all] are pushing for Shari'a laws. A political system which conspires to overthrow Western democracy. And does not wish to be criticised. If this case is successful against Wilders - this effort for Shari'a will be able to advance - outside of the realm of the normal political checks and balances and discourse. It will simply be illegal to criticise it.

The Wilder's trial is an example of the 'hurt feelings' industry being used to push Islamic Shari'a law.

Well, islamic fatwa's that's available on the Internet is what Geert and I read and put together.

I don't care about racist and abusive comments, they're just stupid and comes with almost no IQ involved.

And I don't hate anybody, especially muslims. They want to live their lives, but they can't bring their sharia or fatwa law system into western countries. That's as stupid as above mentioned.

But what I already do is taking care about the same leverage that muslims think they can use to try to impose their law system.

If they do get some of it inside, then Jews, Christians and others should have the same rights.

Justice will then be a bubble gum, you choose flavor and taste. The blindfold on her will be ripped to shreds, and she will have a hearsay in so many different directions.

That's the thing - before the terrorist attacks and the calls for changes to the law in favor of Islam - no one hardly paid any attention to Muslims living in the west.

So the racist argument is a poor one - what is more real is that Muslims feel that others should live as they do - and westerners - who fought hard for their rights find this utterly unacceptable.

Nice article as for me. I'd like to read more about that matter. The only thing I would like to see here is some pics of some devices.
