Anger Over Swiss Minaret Ban [Video]

Switzerland's vote to outlaw the construction of new minarets on mosques sparks a wave of international criticism.

A peaceful Islam that doesn't want to create any trouble - people are confused between the two - the cleric says - thing is the peaceful Islam and the violent Islam are only at odds when it comes to how best to bring Europe and the western world under Islam. And hence the problem - while the authorities are all too prepared to take care of violent Islam they ignore issues surrounding peaceful Islam. Governments - it seems hope to reward peaceful Muslims - with the very same things violent Muslims are fighting for - Islamization - or the removal or restriction of rights and freedoms with respect to Islamic law or deeply held Muslim beliefs. Peaceful and moderate Muslims have also used governments' fear of radical Islam - to slip into positions of power and again promote - an Islamizing agenda. Radical Islam or violent jihad was used by the Swiss authorities in the debate over minarets - people were told if they ban minarets they will anger the militants - it is almost like saying your daddy's going to come home and deal with you if you don't behave. Sad - but the moderate Muslims love using it too - if you don't support the ban on the defamation of Islam - then as the Algerian Ambassador put it - you will only give people reason to become suicide bombers.

It would be much easier to tell Muslims - although we respect the freedom of religion - we have no intention of taking on Islamic laws or becoming an Islamic state - because perhaps more than anything else in our society - rights and freedoms are held in the highest esteem.

There were so many news reports that said this Swiss challenge to the Islamic minaret was lost - and never had a change - until the Times stated that the women might take it. And you wonder how they could have got it so wrong for so long - what it seems to be - is that they are putting out their own politically correct reports and then they are believing them. To show 'anger' at the ban - this Reuters report simply selects everyone who is against it - and states there is widespread opposition to the ban - even though almost 60% of the people voted for it.

I could image the ban might create a diplomatic tension or two - but maybe we should learn from the Arabs - on how to say - with a straight face - that you are offended by religious discrimination against Muslims in Europe - when you have no churches and allow no one to leave Islam !! I am sure we could learn something !!
