Saudi king pardons female journalist, sentenced to 60 lashes for working for station that made 'kiss and tell' TV show [Video]
Never mind CNN's gaga reporting - this lady was rightfully pardoned in fact she should not have been brought to trial in the first place. She was found guilty of simply working for - the same television station that aired the show where a Saudi man tells of his sexual exploits in the conservative desert Kingdom. Guilty by association with her employer - she apparently had nothing to do with the show. What is more Saudi billionaire Prince Alwaleed bin Talal is a major shareholder in the same Lebanese TV network, he of course escaped the flogging sentence for his association as owner of the same station.
The man featured on the show Mazen Abdul-Awad was sentenced to five years in jail and 1,000 lashes. To whip a man 1000 times for saying publicly he enjoys sex is extreme.
Clips from the show here.
